Neato Mosquito: An Elementary Curriculum Guide. This curriculum guide was developed by CDC and is designed to teach 4th grade students about mosquito biology and the prevention of La Crosse encephalitis. Easily adapted for WNV.

The Calgary Health Region revised Neato Mosquito to help educate students about mosquitoes and issues related to West Nile virus. Download the curriculum and accompanying PowerPoint slide show.


Skeeter Busters is an educational program about the dangers of mosquitoes. The Skeeter Busters campaign for young people includes educational information on mosquito control and mosquito-borne diseases. The Skeeter Busters program was started in Louisiana at the height of the West Nile epidemic in the Fall of 2002.


What's the Buzz About West Nile Virus: A resource package of student reading selections and classroom activities designed to increase knowledge and awareness among grades K-6 students of the West Nile virus and ways to minimize the risk of infection.
